Following the work on connecting PS3 controller to N900, I am working on PSX emulator.
My first attempt was a port of psx4all, but it is a no-go. psx4all is a bunch of undocumented code and hacks from different sources glued together with another bag of hacks, and working with it feels like digging through a waste dump. This is not what I got used to. Looking at a successful attempt, the performance of psx4all does not justify this code anyway.
Yesterday I tried PCSX Reloaded. It’s more mature – source looks like a normal GNU-style application, with Debian packaging included. Getting it working on Maemo 5 SDK was quick and easy.
The performance is surprisingly good, considering it runs on an embedded Xephyr with no acceleration. This is a first step only and it will take some effort getting it run on actual ARM hardware with OpenGL ES support. I like challenges though. ^_^

This is going to be an awesome news for N900 Users. Keep on Working Hard!!!
